“Defining Failure and Beating It”

“The fear of failure keeps many from taking the first step toward success.” Rc

“How often does one stop trying due to misidentified failure?” Rc

WHAT IS FAILURE?

Def. Falling short; non-performance; deterioration; bankruptcy; being deficient; becoming weaker; proving to be lacking in what was expected or desired.

Let’s consider a profound philosophy about defeating failure. Ever heard the term “fail-safe?”

“IRREVERSIBLY REACTING”     def. Automatically compensating for a mistake or failure.

In other words, the mindset of a fail-safe individual is refusing to fail. In real life, is that possible? To never fail?

But with a properly designed fail-safe mindset - you can minimize mistakes and learn from them Turn failures into process of elimination. Edison invented the light bulb through that process.

“Failure in and of itself does not reveal the last straw; that is known as quitting. Failure is merely a process of elimination.” Rc

Practice irreversibly reacting - note this difference in mindset:

“React” implies acting in reverse or opposite direction. (More amplified as knee jerk)

“Respond” implies giving an answer or giving a reply.

“Response is a sophisticated reaction” Rc

List common failures you may make:     Then, ask - How do you react? How do you respond to:

Dead ends?

Mistakes?

Relationship struggles?

Non-performance?

Disappointments?

Loss?

Etc…

“In all science, error precedes the truth, and it is better it should go first than last.” –Hugh Walpole

“Virtually nothing comes out right the first time. Failures, repeated failures, are finger posts on the road to achievement. The only time you don’t want to fail is the last time you try something…One fails forward toward success.” –Charles F. Kettering
